The thermoAS® works with dry steam and for this we should first clarify what dry steam means.
Of course, steam is never "dry", but at temperatures between 160°C and 190°C it is referred to as dry steam. Temperatures below this produce "wet steam" and above 300°C we speak of "superheated steam".
The perfect grease dissolving properties when using dry steam allow cleaning completely without chemicals.
Dry steam states that this steam contains microscopic water droplets. Together with sufficiently high pressure of the steam it is achieved that these smallest "water globules" can be "shot" under the dirt. Thus, even firmly adhering dirt caused by grease, oil and resins can be easily removed.
When the hot steam is brought under the dirt, condensation forms a fine layer of water under the dirt so that it can be easily removed with a rag. Even strongly adhering dirt can be loosened in this way. Due to the fineness of the steam, only a very small amount of water is used. Thus, the processed surfaces are not wet, but damp and therefore dry faster.
At the same time, the highest possible temperature causes disinfection and reliably kills germs, bacteria and even viruses. Steam is even used for sterilization and cleaning in agriculture, wine cellars and horticulture.
